Ky to Grand Canyon next summer

We are planning a trip to the Grand Canyon mid summer and was wandering how hard it is to find camping without reservations since it is so hard to plan exactly where we might be at the end of each day

During the summer months we always book ahead. At a minimum, I would make reservations for your destination and weekends.

If you're going to the Grand Canyon in mid-summer and don't already have reservations there, you'd better do that right now. I wouldn't worry about enroute stops. I never make enroute reservations, allows for more flexibility. Plus many campgrounds don't have very friendly cancelation policies. There's always Walmart.

We are making a trip to the Grand Canyon and Utah from FL next spring. I have made reservations anywhere that will be more than a one night stand. From what I have seen, camping that is convenient to the Canyon and includes hook ups can be tough to come by. So if you want power and water, I would reserve ASAP. For dry camping, its not as bad although if you want to just drive in, you need to plan on a morning arrival, not an evening arrival because all the sites will be gone by dinner.
