Las Vegas, NV to Bosie, ID via Hwy 93

I would like to take Hwy 93 north out of Vegas to Twin Falls ID rather than I-15. Has anyone used this route? What are the uphill grades like? How about fuel stops?

We use that route twice a year (for the last 4 years). We have a 38' Dutch Star and pull Jeep Grand Cherokee with no problems with grades. No problem with fuel stops if you plan ahead.

We drove that route (southbound though) a couple of weeks ago on our way to Vegas from the Pacific North West.

Fantastic road. If travelling North definitely take the 375/318 cut off at Crystal Springs (just North of Alamo) to get to Ely rather than staying on the 93. Nothing in the way of grades to worry about. Light traffic but enough that if you did run into vehicle trouble that you could flag down some help.

Minimal to no shoulders so not a road that I would spend much time on after sunset.

Good fuel in Jackpot, Wells, Ely and Alamo. Read in another thread to drive in the top half of the fuel gauge which is what we did.

The Pahranagat National Wildlife refuge just south of Alamo makes a beautiful rest stop (and free overnight camping). We overnighted in Ely on our way South and stayed at the Prospector Casino which worked out very well for a single night stop. Full hook-ups with an indoor pool and Hot tub for only $15. Food in their Mexican restaurant was very tasty as well.
