Last minute Plan B, southwest trip suggestions pls
My family has a trip planned for next week along the central coast of California. The forecast is showing tons of rain. Maybe 5-6 days in our 8 day trip. I'm looking for a plan B in case the forecast is correct. I hope it changes but I want to be prepared if it doesn't.
I looked around the entire state and rain and/or snow is in the forecast anywhere west of the Sierras. On the east side, Death Valley is booked up at Furnace Creek.
I'm willing to go the opposite direction and head to Arizona or Nevada. I have very little knowledge of RV campgrounds outside California. I'm willing to dry camp in the right place.
My kids are 3 and 8 and so kid friendly locations are a must. I am currently injured so hiking will not be a big activity for this trip. Otherwise I might do Joshua Tree or the Mojave Preserve.

You could consider Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, AZ. You'd take I-40. There's a nice public park nearby, an Out of Africa park, Sedona (awesome scenery), Jerome is unique and I just checked the weather and no rain. Have a great trip wherever you land.

Hmmm, we're from WA. We go where we plan and get our rain jackets out unless there are high winds/tornadoes forecast.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into them today.
The forecast keeps changing so nothing is certain. Today is shows slightly less rain, but still raining 4-5 days. Maybe it will get better still. We shall see.
