Lovebug report?

Heading back to NY from Lake Placid FL this week, I see lots of plastered windshields coming from the south. We normally take 70 - 95 but I hate the darn bugs...

Anyone?

Just drove a 160 mile trip in my toad and spent 45 minutes scrubbing them off. Had this been my rig, it would have been well over an hour or two. I do the paint first, headlights 2nd, and windshield last. I'll do the best I can on the grill but some of those are impossible to get out. It is tough on my back and shoulders (too old I guess). If I had my druthers I would just drive at night.

We were on the west side of Florida, but this time of year, Florida, GA, and probably some of the Carolina's can be bad.

I'm in central FL. The love bugs have just started showing up (May and September are their months).

Is there anything you can apply to your windshield to ease the cleaning of love bugs?

REJEX wax.. most boat places will have it, works better than rainx but it's best to let it cure 12 hrs after you have buffed it off.

Use it on painted surfaces, Glass or chrome.
Do not use on black or textured plastic, it's will not come off well if at all.

An RV pulled into the park we are in in Largo, FL this past Saturday he was covered top to bottom with love bugs. He said he came down off I-10 to I-75 to I-275 and had cleaned the window 3x in on the trip. I've never seen them that bad!!!

Last week we were returning from the Florida Panhandle to Central Florida. We were covered with them when we arrived.

Hi Everyone,
Here is the secret to removing love bugs. Buy BUG-OFF. Been using it for years. Nothing works better. The procedure I use is to spray it on the night before. Rise early the next morning and wipe them off. No scrubbing. Go to https://www.amazon.com/B-S-T-45032-B...gateway&sr=8-3 for information
