Meridian,Ms. to Defuniak Springs ,Fl

Any suggestions for a decent route 80 to 331 looks the best but maybe some has a better thought. Thanks

We do a stopover in Meridian every year on our way to Foley, AL. We take US 45 south to get to I10 east in Mobile. Stay on I10 east and go a little bit north on 331 and you’re in Defuniak Springs.

FWIW, Google maps suggests 3 routes from Meridian; US 45 to I10 is the fastest. None of the suggested Google routes use 80 To 331; it looks like that would be the long way.

Like Bill, we like 45 to Mobile. We then jump on I-65 to I-10 rather than taking 45 or 165 through town. 65 route is longer, but seems easier. Traffic in Mobile hasn't seemed too bad mid day when we travel through.

45 seems in mostly good shape and low levels of traffic. So it makes for a mostly laid back route.

BTW, we find ourselves stopping in a strip mall in Citeronelle on 45 next to an Auto Zone, for a break or quick lunch. Just seems like the time for a break coming or going.
