MI 131 south to Napponee

Has anyone driven on 131 south of Grand Rapids to Napponee , asking if the condition of the road is any better than I-196?
I came up 196 a couple of days ago & the road is in pretty bad condition.

The road conditions vary. Much of it is pretty good. Some of it will be pretty bumpy. It will go to 2 lane highway south of Kalamazoo. The roads in Indiana were a little worse than in Michigan. Enjoy your trip.

I don't know which way are you coming from, but from Grand Rapids, MI, you don't need to go I-196. As the previous post stated, you go south on 131 to Kalamazoo, and then on down to Indiana. There is some construction as you go through Kalamazoo and also down south in Indiana. I found the roads to Nappanee after you leave Michigan much worse - two lanes some construction...
