Middlebury to LA and then Middlebury to Vancouver

Hello everyone from the land of downunda (Australia) We have arranged 2 28 day hires one way as above via El Monte RV hire. They are repositioning runs, but we just have to deliver within the timeframes.
We know that the Grand Canyon is on the route, and we hope we can do Death Valley as well as route 66, plus Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone Park.
What other highlights can we look for, and what are good stopping spots?
we have our own 36 foot motorhome in Aus so the size doesnt scare us, but we do want to make the most of what time we have in the states.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions ☺

Hi Skip,

Does that help?

March, will be weather dependent, for the south rim of the Grand Canyon; North rim will probably still have snow; Death Valley should be ok, cooler there, in March , than in May & June, late may in DV, I've hit temps of 117f.
March travel in the area of Rushmore and Yellowstone. Bring a snowmobile.
When you say the Rockies By train, are you departing from Vancouver B.C.? Is that your drop point for the second trip?
