Moab to Crested Butte to Colorado Springs

Anyone know this route.
Is it doable in my coach... the first
leg going thru Montrose to Crested Butte
and then going to Colorado springs through
Pikes Peak forest?
Thanks,
frank

So what are you thinking for the route from Moab to Montrose, just north on 191 to 70 East to 50 down to Montrose? That is no issue. If you are thinking of back roads over the LaSal Mtns you may want to reconsider. From Montrose continue on 50 east to hit Crested Butte, then back on 50 and I would head up 285 to 24 to Co Spgs. No problemo...

Keep in mind you'll have one high mountain pass to cross the Continental Divide at Monarch Pass which is east of Crested Butte on 50. Not an issue, just need to plan your climb and descent accordingly.

Some good sights along the way... Black Canyon of the Gunnison, the Presidential Range around Buena Vista, etc. 100% quality from Moab all the way.

Frank, lots of great places to see in Moab and all along the way. If you don't have your Moab plans yet I'll be happy to make some suggestions, we go there often. Also feel free to PM me if you have any issues along the way or need anything when you get to Colorado Springs. We live a mile from the south gate of the Air Force Academy. You are welcome to stop.
