I guess it depends where you are starting from in North Dakota.
We've taken Hwy 2 across the country and found it to be a very pleasant drive. Entering Montana from North Dakota definitely stop for the night at Fort Peck Corp of Engineer park. It has huge, grassy sites and is very pleasant. Heading westward you'll soon see why Montana is called 'Big Sky Country'. It's beautiful. That sky just lays on the horizon. As you near Glacier the mountains will gradually get bigger and taller - an awesome site. Hwy 2 doesn't go directly through Glacier Nat'l Park. It skirts the southern boundry. It's an easy drive with an RV.
