We will be leaving Napa, CA, heading to Reno, NV, over 80 East.

From Reno we have to head to Yuma, AZ. The route is pretty much 395 South to 15.

We know it is a lousy time of the year, and the weather doesn't look too good either. We will take our time and make the best of it. It just works for us to do this now geographically.

Any situations to look for on 395 out of Reno and further down South?

We do this drive at least 4 times a year.
A highway widening project just began from the I80 / 395 interchange (Spaghetti Bowl) south on 395 for a couple miles. Expect the lanes to narrow through this section and a 55 MPH speed limit.
It's a fairly easy drive from Reno south on 395. Probably the worst part is the traffic from Carson City through Minden / Gardnerville.
If it doesn't snow you'll have a pleasant drive. Some beautiful country along the way.

On Edit: If it's a windy day, you may be diverted to an alternate route just north of Carson City in the Washoe Valley. It's an easy detour and doesn't add much time to the trip.

There's a little rv park in Beatty or Indian Springs you may want to consider for a night's stop over. My sister and brother-in-law stayed there and were happy.

We stayed in Beatty last year and enjoyed the stay, but Beatty is on 95, not 395.
