Need alternate route out of Michigan

We are currently in Lake Orion Mi. Most major roads south are closed due to flooding, and 75 south is our route out to Atlanta and many parts are still closed. We had planned to leave yesterday and now hope to leave tomorrow. I have looked at maps until I'm cross eyed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My wife's from Lake Orion but that doesn't solve your problem does it? Go north on I 75 to Flint and then take I 69 South through Lansing and into Indiana. In Fort Wayne, take US 30 towards Lima, Ohio. This will put you back on I-75 and hopefully Lima is far enough south of the storm area.

Not sure what all is closed but 23 south through Ann Arbor is a good route south to 75.

call 511?

Most states have a "road conditions" hot line. In most states it is 511. You might try that and see if they give alternate routes.

Appreciate the alternative routes. Now I can sleep tonight knowing we don't need a boat. Detroit is a mess.

Michigan road conditions can be viewed here. If you take US 23 south, beware of a low overpass at least on the northbound side. I have not traveled south on US 23 so I don't know if the low overpass is just northbound or north and southbound. Easy solution, just exit and then enter the freeway again. Good luck!

From Lake Orion. I would take I75 south to US 24 Business/Square Lake RD. West on Business US 24 to US 24 south to I696 West. Take I696 to I275/96 south / Toledo. Take I275 to I75. You are then on your way to Atlanta.
There will be a few stop lights on US 24 south. But traffic moves well on the 3 to 4 lanes each direction.
