Need Help - Flagstaff to 395

We decided to end our over-ambitious trip in Flagstaff. Now I have to get to Rt 395 in CA to get home to central OR. Seems like a couple of possibilities - any suggestions for easy travel -34' DP w/toad. Thanks for any help.

I 40 to Barstow CA, 58 to junction with 395...nothing to see till Bishop CA. Or north towards Page AZ and on up to Salt lake, UT. then over thru Idaho into eastern Oregon on I 84

I would suggest taking I40 to Kingman, US93 through Las Vegas, then US95 out of Las Vagas all the way to US50 at Fallon NV, west to I80 and north on US395 in Reno. It's about 70 miles shorter, I have taken it many times.

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions. Dennis, I think we'll follow your route, we're ready to be home! Thanks again both of you!

Care to explain your "over-ambitious" trip to Flagstaff and "we're ready to be home"? Did you have problems?

Sure! We did the adult thing & visited friends in Aptos & Palm Springs, CA, then on to Phoenix. Am in Tucson now, leaving for Flagstaff tomorrow. Original plan was Chinle & Moab, but we decided that we were feeling like we were reaching our "away" limit. This only out 2nd year in the Dolphin & we're finding that we have an "away limit" of about a month. So, we'll save Chinle & Moab for another year. Thanks so much for your concern, but it's just about learning our limits.

Unless you have a reason to go to Flagstaff you would be better off catching US60/US93 out of Phoenix all the way to I40. Save lots of distance and a climb to 7000 ft.
