Needles, Ca. to Mesa, Az. which route?

Am going in Mid. Oct from Needles, Ca. to Mesa, Az.
I have looked at two routes.
Needles south on 95 to Quartzsite, East on I-10 etc. on to Mesa.250 miles

Needles east on I-40 to Kingman, South on 93 to Phx-Mesa 270 Miles

Which would be the better roads?

35' Allegro Gas, towing a Saturn so 55-60 mph max.

I might want to spend the night somewhere just before Phx. any
Casino or Wal-mart etc. or pull thru rv park, (dfon't want to un-hook) you are familiar with? I don't want to go thru
Phx-mesa during rush hour.

Also, coming back from Mesa to Fresno, Ca. about Nov. 5th.
Weather should be ok no snow etc. maybe showers.
What are your experiances and what would you advise?
Appreciate you advise.

Tks, Gramma Dy

We like Hwy 95 along the Colorado River in AZ. There are some nice state parks - Cattail Cove is a favorite.

You could also take 93 to Wickenburg and 74 to Cave Creek and south on I-17 to 101 to Mesa. Stop for the night before Phoenix/Mesa area at Lake Pleasant - Maricopa County Park on Hwy 74 just west of I-17. I'm not sure if they have pull-throughs.

Cave Creek Regional - Maricopa County Park definitely has pull throughs. Stay on 74 heading east across I-17. It's on the left about 5 miles or so. There's a brown park sign on 74 and a left turn lane. You'd have no big traffic getting to this. We really like this park. You can easily connect to 101 from here taking Cave Creek Rd. south.

The greater Phoenix/Mesa area is huge. Where are you planning to stay? The above links to Maricopa County parks will also give you a very nice park in the east Mesa area - Usery campground.

Returning Nov 5 to Fresno 'should' be o.k. weatherwise but naturally, you can't count on weather.
