Bayou Segnette SP on the Westbank. $18 and with Golden Passport 1/2 that. Paved sites, 50A, Water, Dump, free WiFi, Free Laundry. 20min. to downtown N.O. Swamp tours and fresh seafood market 1/4 mile from park entrance.

Steve
Just Google Louisiana State Parks and work your way to Bayou Segnette. It will give you a site map and description of the park. Good base camp for the Bayou Country, Lafitte is about 25 mi., Bayou Lafourche about 35mi. Head up the River Rd. for plantations. If coming from the North&East,I-59/I-10, come into N.O. take the Crescent City Connection/Business 90W to the Westbank and on to the park. If coming from the N/West, I-55/I-10 take I-310 just W of Kenner and cross the river to US90 at Boutee, then east to Bus.90 E and about a mile to the park.
Do Not use US90/ HP Long bridge, very narrow and construction going on. Built in the 30s for 30s width vehicles.
Enjoy
Dave

I second the Bayou Segnette for the N.O. area.
If you want to get a little further out of the area, Fairview Riverside State Park is another good one. It is in Madisonville, LA. You can park dang near on the river that goes beside the park if ya want.
If you do go to Madisonville there is a little place that does boiled crawfish, shrimp, blue crab and dungeness crab on the weekends. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo BOY it's good! It is a little "Hole in the wall" place named "The Spot".
We sometimes drive over on a Saturday or Sunday just to eat the dungeness crab there. (A little over a hour drive from home)
