When we travel to our daughter's home in Tuckahoe, NY with our car we take the Lower level of the bridge, get north on 83 and head up to her home. With the motor home I understand you cannot take the lower level and the upper level requires you to cut across several lanes of traffic to get to the entrance ramp to 83. We are taking our motor home and toad to her home in late August. Is there a better way to get there. Not sure what roads we can travel on as there are motor home restrictions because of low overheads. Also does anyone know what the toll would be on the George Washington for us. Would it be better to go the Tappanzee Bridge? Any advice would be appreciated.

go up to 84 to 87 and avoid the GW altogether. I crossed the GW a long, long time ago pulling a popup. Swore I would never do it again.

Also, for references, pick up a copy of the Motor Carriers Road Atlas from any truck stop. There is a section that lists all the low clearances for each state and references the map location of that low clearance. I use it exclusively when planning a trip.
