I love it when there are concrete barriers on both side of a double lane and they are placed right on the white line, then a truck passes you.

Good to hear your experience was positive. The best way to gain confidence is to just get some miles under your belt and I-10 West is perfect for that. You just have to watch the forecast for wind. I will be taking the same route again in April headed to Bakersfield.

Kudos to you for doing your research and paying for the inspection in addition to having the foresight to hire an instructor for some instruction...a touch of class my friend!!!

I wish you nothing but the very best in your travels... One thing I've noticed is that I now drive 62-64 usually with my fiver keeping pace for the most part with the truckers, conditions permitting of course. I enjoy the trip soooo muuuuuuch more now since I slowed down from the usual 75 mph when I was younger and chasing the clock. Funny thing, I seem to get there just as quickly, much less stress, and enjoy our snoring cat in her bed on the armrest and my wife on her tablet playing words with friends...life is good friend...take it ALL in!!!!!!!!!!

Our "general" rule is 6 hours OR 300 miles whichever comes first! Usually by 5 pm I'm under my awning with a cold Bud Light

There will be wind we experienced it along the 10 going west - not an issue in big rigs as much
