Niagara Falls to Burlington, VT

Looking for suggestions for this leg of my trip.

Good Sam Trip Planner has me traveling state roads north of I-90 over to I-81 then north to Hwy 11 coming into Burlington from the north for approx. 425 miles.

Google maps has me going the same way until Fulton, NY where it sends me south to just north of Syracuse, NY then hwys 31 to 365 to 8, up I-87, and eventually into Burlington from the south on hwy 7 for approx. 395 miles.

Either way is going to be a long day and may need to stop somewhere for the night. Any suggestions as to which route would be best would be appreciated. Any other helpful tips for this run will also be appreciated.

Just remembered to turn off the toll road filter in Google Maps. I could also take I-90 from the Niagar Falls area to east of Syracuse and then get on hwy 365 and follow the same route as Google maps in my first post.

Last fall we went I-90 to I-81 to 3 at Watertown. Stopped for a couple days at Little Wolf camp ground at Tupper Lake. We crossed Lake Champlain at Essex then up to Burlington. 422 miles per MS Streets & Trips. 3 is a good a llitle windy and slow but nice.

All depends. ..do you want to blast through or enjoy the trip.
Adirondack Museum in Blue Mth Lake is worth a day stop.
Antique boat museum in Clayton in wonderful.
Lake Placid has lots to do.
What do you like ti do??????
Museums in Plattsburgh. ..otherwise take the Interstates and you can run 65-70 mph.

Thanks for the route input Red.

Winemaker, you make a very good point. I'll do a little research and see what we might want to see in the Adirondacks.
