The western portion of I-78 in NJ rates as one of the worst roads for RV travel in the US, especially Exit 3 to the PA state line.
However, NJ DOT is repaving this section (along with Exit 7-12) so you won't have the jointed cement road to knock your fillings loose!
I drove it today with the motorhome and it was actually enjoyable. So you don't have to hop on Rt. 22 as a bypass.
However, NJ in it's infinite wisdom still left about a 1/4 mile section of cement on the eastbound side (right after Exit 3) just to remind you how bad the road was...
