Not sure this is the correct forum, but does anyone have a best route to get from the Watertown area to the Lake George area. Would love to go thru the Lake Placid area but not sure if the roads are suitable for a 40' motor home with jeep. Any help would be appreciated, would prefer for my 200 miles not turn into a 10 hrs white knuckle adventure.

The roads are fine, might be a little slow going with traffic in the summer time. Wait till the rug rats go back to school and the place empties out. Its a very beautiful ride, so enjoy it

From Watertown State Route 3 will take you over to Lake Placid. This route is used by trucks to reach Lake Placid and is a nice drive. I've drove it in a semi several time.

Just got back from lake George and we have a 40' towing a car and bike you fit just fine on all the roads and there very nice. just make sure to fuel up at a place you will fit before you get there because there is nothing in LG to handle our size without having to back up. if your planning on staying for a few days lake George RV park is the nicest but also the most expensive. can't give you a route as we are in Buffalo and go a different route as your further north
