Oakland to Yosemite to Sequoia to Santa Barbara

Planning the trip this summer in 42' deisel towing a CR-V. I have never traveled that area and any suggestions as far as routes to take would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ken, I think there are only 7 sites in the valley that would accomodate 42'. That being said I would plan on staying out of the valley and taking day trips to Yosemite from the groveland or oakhurst area. Cosidering that you are going to Sequoia I would look at oakhurst as you could then take Ca 41 to Fresno and 99 south. We stayed at a small private rv park in 3 rivers ca, really enjoyed it and took day trips to sequoia and kings canyon parks. From 3 rivers one could 196 out of Visalia to 41 to 46 into Paso Robles then 101 southto Santa Barbara. Peronally I have not found a good reasonable RV park in SB. Flags in Buellton is okand about 60 miles to SB. PM me if you haveany questions.

Last time I stayed in Yosemite NP (twice in 2010) there were 12 sites that handled a 40-footer and ZERO that handled anything above 45 feet. Also reservations for sites in the summer sell out in about 20 minutes.

I have taken:
- Rt. 120 into Yosemite. Big climb by Groveland.
- Rt. 140 out of Yosemite. You may have to unhook your toad at the bridge around the landslide.
- Rt. 41 in and out of Yosemite. A little more elevation than Rt. 140 but the best access for a MH.

Good luck!

we stayed in coarsegold, south of yosemite on ca 41 at the escapees park for 3 weeks last fall. we joined the escapees there. this is a beautiful park and the rates are very reasonable.
we made day trips to yosemite and sequoia.
there is an indian casino across the road near coarsegold that offers free overnight parking and excellent meals for a reasonable price. they have 24/7 security too.
we drove south on ca 41 toward fresno. there is an arco fuel station at a crossroads s. of coarsegold that had the least expensive gas of our entire trip.
there is another indian casino east of 41 a ways near friant that offers free overnight parking and excellent meals. we ate there but didn't stay overnight.
