Ongoing road construction at Lousiville I 65 bridge over Ohio river.

This ongoing project is not planned for completion until late 2016, after the new bridge for Northbound traffic is completed. At that time it becomes toll bridges, both ways. It will be a free-flowing traffic area, NO STOPPING, all electronic collection!, KY has voted to become part of the E-Z Pass electronic toll system.
Full details HERE,
This means we either obtain an E-Z pass transponder, OR, find another route across the river. What little information I've found, leads me to obtain an E-Z Pass transponder from Illinois. They do not charge a monthly fee that depletes your account while not in use. Just be sure to purchase the correct transponder for your rig.You do not have to reside in IL to buy from them. I haven't found KY's E-Z Pass details yet.

Thanks for the E-Z Pass information. Please keep updates coming on the KY and Illinois variations.

We travel through Louisville going north and west, and wondered if the new bridges would be completed before we were too old to drive, but it looks like this will finally happen. The new I-265 bridge will be great for bypassing downtown.
