Ontario to Alberta travel through U.S

Hello Everyone,
I have been searching through threads looking for someone who has done the trip from Ontario through the United States to Alberta. Departure Tuesday July 2 - back home by July 31. It will be our first trip with our 33.2 Motorhome pulling a car. I have family in Alberta and on her advice she said Banff is a nice place to camp vs Lake Louise. Also maybe we will make it to the Stampede. Realize were planning late. Some have said do not prebook sites. I purchased TripWizard. I think for now I'd like advice on places to stop and see along the way, also easy sites for us to park, we like long walks, rivers, waterfalls etc.We enjoy many genres of music so maybe discover or plan a trip to an outdoor music festival. We are foodies, like beer and wine. Appreciate History. We also want to have our Boston friends fly to us and see Alberta so have to plan the place to pick them up either U.S side airport or Alberta airport. No Kids with us. We are 50 plus, except me 48. We picked up our MH and drove it from BC to Ontario through the U.S and stayed at Flying J's the whole way in November, and Beat the snow. Have had warranty work and any concerns checked. Appreciate any advice. Thank You Tracey.

My friends left Muskoka Ontario on Tuesday. They are heading for Vancouver to catch a boat cruise to Alaska. They crossed at Sault St. Marie into the US. They were planning four 10 hour days to get to Drumheller in Alberta. They wanted to go to the dinosaur museum there. They were not planning on many site seeing spots on the way out, as they had only one week to get to Vancouver. They are taking the slow road home after the cruise. Banff is beautiful. Be sure to visit Lake Louis. If you take a day trip up to Jasper, you pass the Columbia Iced Fields. They say the Calgary Stampede is a must see, but quite expensive. Cant help with many other stops. The US side has to be more scenic than crossing the prairies on the Canadian side. I have done both, but only really remember crossing the prairies how flat it was. Not much to see. You can see the mountains what seems like about 20 hours before you get to them. Safe trip.
