Oregon Coast to Bay Area south

Hi Gang.
We are planning to return from the Oregon Coast to San Diego next summer and are thinking about coming down the 101 through the Bay Area.
How about some recommended RV parks through this section?
Thanks.

Petaluma KOA (although not sure how close that is to 101) and Vines in Paso Robles.

Petaluma KOA is right off the 101, we stay there when returning home to So Cal from the Oregon coast. It’s the perfect stop to stock up on wine before returning home. We’ve started staying at Wine Country RV Resort on the 46 in Paso rather than the vines. It’s just a little cozier and a bit quieter, not as convenient for an overnight on the 101 as The Vines, but if you’re stopping for more than one night I’d consider it. Both are Sun Resorts properties.

South of San Jose is Gilroy Garlic RV park. Fine for a night or two. Super Walmart 3 minutes away along other shops and restaurants. Easy on/off 101 and the truck stop one exit South has the cheapest diesel I have seen in So Cal.

Taking 101 south puts you across the Golden Gate Bridge in the toll direction - you'll pay $5 per axle for the toll - and through downtown San Francisco. If you want to avoid that, take I580 across the San Rafael/Richmond bridge for free and go down the east bay on I880, which meets back up with 101 in San Jose. South of San Jose you can stay in Morgan Hill, Gilroy, or San Juan Bautista - there's several RV parks withing spitting distance of 101.

Thanks everyone. To clarify. I am looking for stops between the Oregon Coast and the Bay Area.
We are familiar with the area south of the Bay Area.

Ancient Redwoods RV park in Redcrest. Amazing area and great park. Puts you a easy drive from there to the bay area. Also, At Rivers Edge in Brookings, OR

Shoreline RV Park in Eureka, CA is convenient to 101 also.

Obviously depends upon how far you want to drive, but Klamath River Resort as good as any in that stretch. Take a look on google earth in the area you want to stop. There are quite a few parks and most are pretty open parking lots. Exceptions are The Redwood RV Resort in Crescent City, Mystic Forest RV in Klamath and the Emerald Forest in Trinidad.

I'm interested in this topic because we're planning to head south in a few weeks from western WA and are thinking of taking the 101 all the way. We did the bay area to San Diego in a car many years ago but we've never done that drive with our new rig and wonder how difficult a drive it will be. Also wondering about availability of diesel along the way.

101 South of Monterey and North of Morro Bay is generally not recommended in a large MH. Diesel is all over the place.

What about 99 for that stretch?

You won't find Monterey OR Morro Bay on 101 - you have to go west to Hwy 1...

Oopps. I meant Hwy 1. Thanks for correcting me. Let me try this again.

101 is all good all the way to LA.
