And we thought the tolls in New England were high after a trip we took in the early fall!

Regrettably, few states compare more unfavorably in terms of tolls than ours in Pennsylvania, I am embarrassed to say.

Especially considering how much of the PA Turnpike is in constant need of and always in various stages of repair.

As said by others, if traversing our state, and you have the choice, always opt for I-80 -- better highway, not as many curves, prettier scenery, free (thus far).

I'm glad another poster addressed the poor shape the PA turnpike is in. In 2011 we traveled from CA on I 10, then around the panhandle of FL, up the coast and through PA to Niagra Falls. HUGE potholes, blew out a tire, it is the WORST road we have ever been on. We mostly travel the roads west of MO/ARK and there is not one road that's as bad as the PA turnpike, NEVER again, will avoid it at all costs

You do realize that the old two lane tunnels (one lane in each direction) have been gone for quite some time? The current tunnels are no worse than tunnels anywhere else in the country. I'm not a big fan of tunnels, but at least these aren't like the old ones.

I scraped my MH on the narrow enterance to the toll booths on the PA toll road! They say they are 10 foot wide, but when your MH is nearly 9 foot wide, that does not give you much side clearance!

I disagree! Have you ever had an EZPASS? Do you know anything about it? The EZPASS will save you money, a one way trip across the Ohio Turnpike will save you $9.00 with 4 axels. And you say it's not worth it??

Also they are saying by the end of this year the EZPASS will be accepted in Florida on all the SUNPASS roads.
