Pacific Coast in 2.5 Months?

Maybe this has been asked before but I couldn't find it. This is more about time than route. We're planning on driving down the Pacific Coast from the Olympic Pennisula to Santa Barbara-ish. We've seen L.A. and San Diego. We're planning on leaving the Seattle area in mid August. We don't have any concrete plans until Feb 1...as concrete as plans can get 9 month out anyway. We are full time too.

I've tentatively scheduled arriving in Santa Barbara on Nov 1. That's 2.5 months and it's doesn't seem long enough for a leisurely trip. It's a bucket list item for us and we don't want to feel rushed. We prefer to stay places at least three days and travel no more than 100 miles but that's minimum and not ideal. Anyone done this? Is 2.5 months enough of not?

Just my 2 cents but enough time is a relative thing. There's people who have been visiting the same places for years and still haven't seen everything they want. Even if you spent more time there would be things that you would miss and want to come back for. You can't see everything and you can always go back. You don't have to do it all at once.

Again, just my 2 cents.

Once your on the coast you wont want to drive even near 100 mi. When we travel we use 2-3 pm as our stopped time regardless of what time we leave. The 2.5 months should make for a nice trip.
