Pennsylvania to Henderson, Louisiana

Looking on some suggestion's for the best route and road condition's from Northwest Penna. to Henderson, Louisiana. Hoping for suggestion's from those that has traveled this summer on which routes to take and what to avoid.

I haven't been on them recently so can't comment on road surface but if you opt to go I-59 to I-12 then west, be aware that if you get to Baton Rouge at the wrong time, the I-10/I-12 junction can be a parking lot.

I'd go 271, 71, 65, 59, 12, 10. We were on 10 four months ago (went to Cajun Palms) and lots of construction but traffic moved - when we went through.

Thank you for the suggestions so far, roadpilot, I will check this route out. Mostly looking for the best road conditions for the trip.
