Am I crazy or what...... I am a Newbee and found a one of a lifetime deal while visiting our son in California and know it's time to go get it, oh what a trip, am I crazy?

I am planning about 350 max miles per day but some of it would be great on my gold wing, how is it going to be with a 31 foot A. From San Diego I want to travel through 29 palms (stationed there 30+ ago), to Las Vegas, from ther I want to pay the 15 dollars and run zion to capital reef. My next stop is planed for somewhere on 550 in Colorado. We need to catch up with some old friends in Farmington, nm our next destination is a daughter in ft worth with a stop at palo duro canyon outside Amarillo. After that it's just normal hwy bcd home in Greenville, sc.

Any one want to talk me out of the route.

Your input is welcome.

Definitely will be a great trip!

Zion is great (stay to the center of the tunnel!), Bryce and Capital Reef will be spectacular. You will go over the 'hogback' in Capital Reef - 1000 ft drops on both sides, no guard rail or shoulder and a steep grade!

550 in Colorado is no picnic between Ouray, Silverton and Durango - some real high passes. But the scenery is will challenge you to keep your eyes on the road.

Get the rig checked out thoroughly in SD. You have a lot of desolate driving through the square states and you don't want to break down.

Good luck!

My son has taken care of his dear old dad and took it to the shop a couple of weeks ago, a little delimitation (fixed) minor electrical, and house batteries. Changed fluids and we are ready to go. He also got the refrigerator and cruise control recalls taken care of for me, I owe him big.
