Pismo to Palm Spings
I had such good luck with advice getting here, I thought I’d try again. We leave soon for Thermal , via Palm Springs.
Google maps suggests 101s through to Burbank and then 210 east to 10.
Is this a good route for a 40’ with a toad?

That route handles 18-wheelers 24/7. You should pick up a copy of the Motor Carrier's Atlas at any truckstop. It highlights approved roads for 18-wheels.

Rlott2k, I have a home in Palm Springs, the coach is in storage.
If you ever stay in the area, the Outdoor Resorts on Ramon in Cathedral City is really nice. There is a nice RV park just south of downtown Palm Springs (Happy Traveler RV Park) but it's not big-rig friendly.
The 'super-nice' RV resort is The Motorcoach Country Club in Indio, CA, along with the Outdoor Resorts across the street.
Safe travels,
Mark

That's a good route as given. An option may be pick up Hwy 126 in Ventura which will take you to I5 in Santa Clarita, go over the Newhall Pass and catch 210 at the bottom of the pass and take it to I10. There are some stop lights in Santa Paula, Filmore and Piru, but I prefer that to Hwy 101 thru the San Fernando Valley and 126 is 4 lane all the way.
