I don't know about other parts of the country but in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut there are some pretty low clearance bridges along the parkways. I wouldn't dare put my motorhome on these roads. I think that is one of the reasons for the truck exclusions.

Good Luck and great travels

John,

You need to be a lot more specific.
Someone here can probably answer with good information, but I will still suggest that you figure out how to look up answers like this on the web.

Not sure where you're coming from, but there are always semis pulling double trailers on I-40 between Memphis and Nashville, and I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville.

Don't know if you're referring to a specific road around Nashville (Music City Parkway?) or something else.

Let us know what you find out.

The Parkway system in NY & CT is not about length, but about height. I do not have the law in front of me, but I have driven those roads while living there for over 20 years, and some of those overpasses are down around the 12' clearance. I would not take anything taller than a pick up truck on any of them. In addition to probably being illegal, we will be reading about your accident where your roof was peeled off!

The Natchez Trace Parkway is limited to 55' combined length. Recreational Vehicles - Natchez Trace Parkway

State Route 155, mostly designated the Briley Parkway, is a beltway around Nashville. It doesn't have any RV restrictions and is used by trucks and buses.

This from Woodalls: "TENNESSEE: Maximum RV width 102 in.; maximum motorhome length 45 ft.; maximum trailer length 40 ft.; maximum RV height 13.5 ft.; maximum combined length for two- or three-vehicle combination 65 ft. Overnight parking in rest areas allowed unless posted. RV Safety Requirements: Trailers over 3,000 lbs.: trailer brakes, breakaway switch, safety chains (chains not required on gooseneck fifth-wheel trailers). Driving Laws: Wipers on/headlights on. Right turn on red allowed, unless posted otherwise. More Information: Tennessee Highway Patrol, 1150 Foster Ave., Nashville TN 37249-1000. Emergency number: 911, (615) 741-2069; *THP or *847 on cellular phones."
