Hi All, Would greatly appreciate any input on our upcoming trip next week. We are leaving Plymouth MA traveling North thru Boston, NH, Maine into Canada then onto NS via Moncton. Then South on 104 to Parrsbor along coast to Truro, Halifax, Yarmouth then The Cat Ferry back.
Any thoughts on rt 9 vs 95 North?
Coastal rte on Bay of Fundy?

Map of Trip

Sorry for long post and thanks for any input.

Edw: G'morning from Newaygo, Mich. Don't know how much time you've got, but it would be unfortunate to miss the Cape Breton Highlands when you're in Nova Scotia. Otherwise your route selection sounds good. The Peggy's Cove area South of Halifax, and for that matter Halifax itself are great spots to spend time. We found the Western side (ie., Yarmouth coast) to be a little unremarkable. HAVE FUN!! Steve & Lynette

We did this trip last Sept. We took the Cat out of Portland, Maine. I think if you have the time you should get Cape Breton in as well. I agree that the Western side (Yarmouth coast) wouldn't be as exciting as Cape Breton. When you arrive, there are welcome centers and do visit them and they will spend time with you and tell you all about things to do and don't do.

The Maine coast is very much like NS. Truly is beautiful at this time of year. Not too many coaches in the parks. Peggys Cove is full of bus,and cruise boat passengers. When we were there we were told to wait until 3:00 pm when all the people load back onto the bus and cruise ships. It looked like ants walking on rocks until they all left. Then we went to the post office that still hand stamps mail.

We took the ride on the Cabot trail, went to a place they call Meat Cove. What a view, but I would not recommend driving the coach up there again. It's very rough getting there, but the view was spectacular. My husband pushed me to go there just because he wanted to go. I would drive a car up there just for the view.

If you like seafood, your in for a treat. The mussels are the best and lobster everywhere.

They will ask you if you have alcohol aboard. Coming back into the US they came aboard and opened up our refrigerator. We don't know why they did that. Just a heads up for you.

Funny that now I can ask you, if you have any info on any campgrounds near the Framingham, Ma area. We need to go there this weekend for about a week.

Thanks and have a great trip.

Happymi

Thanks for the info.

Dont have a lot of time or Toad. So looks like trip to Highlands is out this time.

Happymi - Sorry cant help out with experiences as we are new to the RV thing. Looked on line and found this http://www.circlecgfarm.com/
camp ground and looks nice. Also closest to area. Framingham is just west of Boston as far and as I can tell not much for camping right in town but Bellingham is nice location and should be really nice this time of year. Plymouth is Not too far and always a nice place to walk and eat here.

Thanks, ED
