RVTRIP
I use RV Trip Advisor. Almost always do a street view of CG on Google Earth to check out the "hood".

I was searching for trip planning software and apps a few weeks ago and found one that looked very useful. I forgot to bookmark it though. I liked it because it offered lots of options for how to break up the trip with places to go and things to do. It was also free-probably funded by sponsors. Any ideas? I'm planning a trip from Simi Valley to Lake Tahoe.

I use RVPARKY. You can set the filter to search for Walmarts, Cabela's, Pilot's, Love's, rest areas, and RV parks. The list is vast. It gives great deal of information of where you can spend the nights when traveling through.

Check out trippy.com
This website is clever to help design a trip and stops along the way. Note it's intended for cars so be aware of low clearance and other issues.
