Re-Route for Trip from Ohio to SC

We are leaving this coming Sunday for a trip to Edisto Island SC. Our original route was through Knoxville to East Flat Rock NC then on to Edisto Island. The return was through Wilsonville TN and back home to Ohio.

We have a potential detour through Clayton GA, and I am not familiar with the routes. Any advice greatly appreciated.

We are in a 30' Class C pulling a Saturn Vue on a tow dolly. Total length around 55'

To Clayton via I-40, Rt 14 in NC to Rt 441 to Rt 15 to Clayton then on to Rt 76 to Rt 11 to Rt 25 to Greenville Area, staying at Travelers Rest.

On the way back home from I-95 and Rt 24 in GA north on 24 to Rt 76 into Clayton, GA, then north out of Clayton via Rt 15 to 441 then to I-80and on to Smokey Mountain Premier in Wilsonville.

Any comments or advice on those routes and the rig we will be driving?

Route 76.. if that is the road I think it is then I've driven part of that route (I call the part of 76 I drive the sequential numbered highway. It has 2 or 3 numeric designations one of shich is 123)

The georgia part is foothills.. Not serious mountain driving, it is a bit stressful but not really a problem.. I enjoyed that part.

When you get to Seneca SC if you want to stop (Traveler's rest is a bit out of the way) there is a lovely County park,, South cove

Directions from 123/76 follow

Watch for the big plazas.. Applewood and Bi-Lo on the right,, Just past the Bi-Lo plaza is 28 (to the left) and something else to the right.

Turn left 2 lights turn right, turn right at the first road to the right (about a quarter mile) (South Cove Road) Park is at the end of the road.

Most of the sites are easy in / out and a mix of 30/50 amp.. One dump station.. IF there are a couple of camp hosts (Fred and Betty) parked there in a big class A.. Say hi to 'em for me (They are the older camp host couple) 0.

Home is where I park it!

We already have reservations at Travelers. This detour is not of our own making but one of our kids being obstinate. Plan was always to pick him up near Knoxville, and we really don't want to spend the time on the detours. It is only 60 mile extra on the way down and 75 miles extra on the way back, but on those roads would likely add a couple hours. I planned hard to keep our legs around 300 miles.
