Recommendations for Route TX to VA.

Planning a trip from Texas to Virginia in October. Was going to take I-10 across the southern tier, but had some input that I-10 is bad through Louisiana, both rough road and bad traffic at Baton Rouge. Anyone have comments on I-10 vs. I-20/30?

Driving a F-350 Dually and a 30 ft 5th wheel toy hauler.

Thanks! M.

Louisiana roads are bad. Avoid rush hour morning and evenings in Baton Rouge.

X2 for Shreveport on I-20. Only about 10 miles of rough roads, though. I use I-20 to go east, avoiding I-30 as much as I can.

X2 on I20. This is the route I would use:
1. I20
2. I59
3. I459 around Birmingham
4. I24
5. I75
6. I40
7. I81

Did all this route in April except the I81 section. Fairly good road surface & no major metro areas.
