Red Bay, AL to Pennsacola, FL

Heading from Red Bay, AL to Pensacola, FL and interstates are obviously an option but Iím considering this route: AL-19, I-22, US-43, I-59, US-43/ I-65, go around Mobile, I-10. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

I would take I-22 to I-65 South then exit at Florida 113 and jump over to Florida 29 straight to Pensacola. Al-19 is a little narrow and windy but it doesn't last long just don't do it at night. I have been on all those roads except 113 and they are good roads. Try not to hit the 22/65 interchange in Birmingham and the I-65 corridor in Montgomery during rush hour as they get a little chaotic.

Yes, exit 69 onto Alabama 113, four lane, very easy drive. Right at the light onto US 31 and then left at a light at the Hardees onto US 29. This is the worst part, about 2 miles thru Flomaton and Century, 4 lane but narrow, you are about in the gutters, just take it easy, it turns back into good road quickly.

there is a lot of construction on 29 as it nears I-10 however, but not worth detouring all the way to Mobile to avoid.

Where is the OP going in Pensacola???? would help to know.
