Redwood natl park vs Humboldt Redwoods

Suggestion on which park to visit to see these giants. Also, travelling with 43ft with toad....Can I negotiate 101 along coast and into Redwood Natl forest? Any suggestions for rv park adjacent to Redwood Forest or should I just bypass this and go to Humboldt where more rv parks are?
Thanks,
frank

If you're coming from the south, stop at Ancient Redwoods RV Park and do your big tree looking from there. There are many wonderful short easy trails to take in the midst of them. It's a Big Rig park.

Ancient Redwoods is great. Absolutely. I presume with a rig your size you ate accustom to parking the RV & sightseeing with the toad. That is the way to see this area. Last visit, we used Ancient Redwoods RV to see that area & Sounds of the Sea RV in Arcata to see the groves further north. Have also used Mad River in Eureka. North of there, Prairie Creek was our favorite non-hook-up park but even our first 26' Class C in the '80's had a hard time fitting. The only part of 101 that ever bothered me was that thru downtown Frisco & just south of Eureka. Won't do Frisco again, but Eureka . . . sure.
