Reno NV to Corning CA

Planning our first long trip in the Coach, Michigan to California. We will be going across 80 but my concern is once we get past Reno, NV the trip planner has us taking 20 thru Nevada City, then up 70 to 99 and 99 into Corning. Is that trip across 20 a good easy drive? We are traveling in a 37 ft Dutch Star DP towing a Chevy 1500 Crew Cab. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Boh. I lived in Grass Valley for several years (hence by name) and I pull a 35TT so am about 55 ft long. The drive from 80 to Nevada City on 20 is beautiful and you won't have any problems. You'll stay on 20 until you see the exit in GV for Hwy 20 towards Marysville....again no problems heading down out of GV. Once you get to the flat lands you will see a turn off (just after the ?- Mile House) onto Woodruff. It's a short cut to 70 and will save a lot of time BUT you will want to turn off Woodruff at the big silos (Matthews Ln). When you get to the end of that road turn left and it will take you to 70. Turn right. DO NOT TRY TO CROSS THE RAILROAD TRACKS ON WOODRUFF.
Here's your route on Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/39.3...39.9276572!3e0

I appreciate the info. Having never been over this route before, I did not want any surprises.

Thank You,

I've done that with my 39 Journey towing without problem.

If towing: a 2006 Mini Cooper or 1995 Wrangler
