Road Closures in NC
Alert.
Any members traveling or planing on traveling, through the eastern part of the state of North Carolina, there are many roads that are blocked due to flooding from the storm. Parts of I-95 from Smithfield NC down to the south side of Lumberton NC have been blocked off because of flood waters. It is unclear at this point, when I-95 at Lumberton will be reopened, because theres no where for the flood waters to go.
It has been stated, that not to use the GPS, following directions around the flooded section because it is just not updated to provide that service.
I suspect there are quite a few, that will plan their route of their travels before pulling out, but theres those that just pull out & dont know what lay ahead of them on their trip. I am one of those, ol trucker thing for me cause you got to roll.
The affected areas of the flood, are at least one or two countys west the full length of I-95 across the state & then around 85% of the whole eastern part of NC are affected.
If you should be planing on traveling north or south through the eastern part of NC, it would be best to plan your route over I-85 north or south.
I have no details from the south eastern part of Virginia, but know it has been effected as well.
South Carolina, only heard there was some flooding, do not know the locations, but mostly wind damage from the storm.
