We're completing an eleven state 3500 miles on the mh and 2100 on the toad and the roads are deplorable.
I got sick of seeing signs, that cost we tax payers millions of dollars, that the stimulus money was at work fixing our roads.
Today was the final straw. I'm coming home to Texas on US 287 from CO. Reaching OK, all of sudden the roads went to rub board smoothness. I thought, can't wait to get to my beloved Texas. Well, sure nuf, we got to Texas and it was just as bad, if not worst.
I slowed to 50 mph and had the truckers furious but I was into self preservation. Anything that wasn't glued or nailed down was falling. I was afraid the TV was coming down into my lap it was shaking so much.
So far, I've only found one water leak. Of course I've not got several rattles that I didn't have leaving CO.
Stimulus my you know what...I want my dang money back. Oh yeah, road construction one place for 17 miles...got down to mile 15 and had a flagger because it was down to one lane. Half mile later another flagger "guarding" two men with shovels scraping the concrete. Probably cost $5000 in signs, each man had a truck, shovels, at least a mile of the dreaded orange cones and two flaggers. Oh and don't forget, it was hot and while the flagger waited for the oncoming traffic, he sat in a state vehicle with the motor running for a/c. Add another $10 in gas.
Thanks for letting me vent.

And to make matters worse...its hot as you know what here. Thats all right, I still love my state.
