We're heading to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons next week. If we think we will have time, we plan to leave Jackson and head down to Utah and visit Zion and Monument Valley before heading back east to home.
From Jackson, WY, Streets and Trips puts me on Rt's 22 and 31 over to I-15 at Idaho Falls. Just wanting to know if there are any concerns with that route or if anyone has suggestions for a better route.

Unless you want a very exciting ride down a very long and steep grade I'd avoid Teton Pass. It's 10% or greater on both sides and will test the braking efficiency of any coach.

May I suggest US 89 south from Jackson, WY to I-15 at Brigham City, UT.
There are some grades, but nothing your Journey cannot handle. We did this route northbound last summer - beautiful scenery!
If you go that way a superb stop is at the National Oregon Trail Center on US 89 in Montpelier, ID. Very large parking area.
At Monument Valley you might try staying in Gouldings CG.
Have not found a campground with a more spectacular view!

Thanks for the recommendation. We did get to stay at Gouldings one night two years ago...it was a treat, for sure.
Just where is the Teton Pass to which Big Sky Bob refers?

Teton Pass is west of Jackson and Wilson on WY-22. It's on my schedule for next year but haven't taken that pass as of yet. If it's anything like Targhee Pass (west of West Yellowstone) or Togwotee Pass (east of Moran) then it's not a big deal. If it's more like US-14 on the west slope of the Bighorns, then it is a big deal.
