Come up from the 210 fwy side. Dont come up from the back side (Johnson Valley). The 18 is very steep, and some of the turns are tight. Did it in my 30 footer, and it was a bit much.

10 east from the 15 to University Blvd Redlands. Go towards mountains to Hyway 38. Turn right. Good RV road to Big Bear.

I agree.

The road from Lucerne Valley (Apple Valley) is not Big Rig friendly. 330 to 18 was closed due to slides, not sure if it is open now,

Stay away from 18. Took that one in in April in a 40 footer towing a colorado. Not fun

Definitely the easiest way to go even if it seems out of the way from Vegas. The Lucerne Valley route would be brutal in an RV.

Thank you for the responses. We did the 18 on the motorcycles a couple of years ago and the wife almost had a heart attack.
