Roads to Yellowstone

Hi all.... I am traveling down Interstate 15 from Canada and I am heading for Island Park, Idaho, which is near West Yellowstone. I am deciding between taking I-15 all the way down to Rte 20 and coming back north.......or taking I-15 to I-90 to 287 south all the way down.... Forget about the scenery, and forget about the most direct route......which is the better route for keeping my DW from white knuckling the armrests or laying down on the floor....if you know what I mean. We want an easy ride without any "harrowing" overlooks.... Any suggestions are appreciated.

Tom,

I don't remember any white knuckle driving from Lethbridge to Great Falls. Some up and down hill from Great Falls to Butte.
As I remember from Butte to Idaho Falls is a pretty OK drive. And from Idaho Falls to Island park is no problem at all.
It is all pretty nice interstate from the Canadian border to Idaho Falls.
I haven't been on the other route you described, so can't comment on it.

I much prefer interstate driving to any other.

Either way,
Luck

Bob

Just did the I-90 to 287 route and it was beautiful. No issues. Have fun.

Thanks........I also see that there is an exit off I-15 at Monida. The road is Monida Lake View Rd. and it goes pretty much directly east into West Yellowstone. My trailer Life Directory software routes me on that road. Does anyone have any experience on this road? This seems more direct than going all the way south to Idaho Falls then heading back north on 20, but again, I am looking for the least stressful route for DW.
