Route 9 between Bennington, VT and Concord, NH

Anyone traveled or familiar with this stretch of road? Inquiring about steepness of hills and road condition.

Very pretty roadway. It is hilly in the far western NH and into VT. Bennington is busy on weekends. I would say it is typical secondary road for traffic aND road conditions. I travel in our Journey towing both my PT on the dolly or Ram 1500 4down. No issues

We've run Rte 9 often, but it was in our previous Class B. As stated, some good climbs/descents, mostly in VT. Typical 2-lane road. Either you get stuck behind someone, or they are stuck behind you! Much prettier ride than I90 to I93 to get to Concord, not the route to take if you are trying to make good time. ST

I use to travel that road many times when I lived in Vermont. It has some step long grades up and down and some twist and turns until you hit Brattleboro VT. Tractor trailers take the route all the time. This is a two lane highway with passing lane on the step grades. Keen to Concord is another winding road. I drove them in a car. It will be slow going but passible. Good brakes and second gear will be your friend.

Thanks for all the response. Just got the eastern mountain guide, thinking I will use route 11 east from Manchester instead. There are a couple of warnings in the guide that makes me think an alternate route would be a better plan.
