I am heading from the Albany NY area to South Woodstock VT with an F450 and 35 foot horse trailer. I am either taking route 9 to route 91 or route 4 through Rutland.

I do not mind 2 lane but I do like to make time and long climbs and lots of little towns can really slow you down.

What do you think???

Thanks in advance

9 will probably be shorter in miles, but some pretty good pulls in the hills/mountains will really slow you down. Still some climbing on 4 but not as bad and I think you will make better time and less work. If it were me I would take 4. I've made both trips dozens of times. In a car, I don't care as both are pretty scenic. But 4 will probably be your best bet. Good luck.

wftree,

Am interested in the replies you get. Will coming back from the Black Hill's and to heading to Contoocook NH in 3 weeks. AAA proposed utilizing RT 9 through VT. Not sure if I'm going to do it or not. Just broke out the TripTik and noticed that the AAA folks stamped all over TripTic "Delay's/Construction" betwen Bennington and west Brattleboro. Having only ever travelled that road with my parents 30 plus years ago I cannot remember what it was like. Not to keen on 2 lane roads pulling a toad tying up traffic with construction delays.

V/R
Jeff
