Route 95 tunnel at Baltimore

I am heading back north sunday along 95 but i am concerned about the restriction on the tunnel at Baltimore. No propane tanks as i understand it. How do you get around there and back on 95?

I have never been through Baltimore with an RV we always go down US 301 when headed south or north along the coast. Depending on where you are coming from you could pick up US 17 take that to US13 across the CBBT and reconnect with RT 1 and I95 miles up the road.

Look up "I95 Exit guide" I always look over it before we go down 301 for a refresher.

Simply take 695 west. There are no tolls or restrictions. And it is only about 3 miles longer.DO NOT try to go through either tunnel.

Take the key bridge (I-695East) or the bypass I-695 West.

There seems to be conflicting info on whether a class a can go through the tunnel. Difference between permanently mounted LP tanks vs. LP bottles. Since I could not get a clear answer, I go around I-695 to the west. That avoids all the tunnels and bridges and is an easy drive.

I am all-electric and have no propane bottle, and I still go around. If you read the tunnel regulations there is a maximum vehicle width of 96 inches, and I am 102 inches. Probably wouldn't get caught but why look for trouble?

Maryland propane restrictions are very clear. You cannot carry propane containers over 10 pounds per container, no matter how you carry them. Propane Regulations

The beltway, I695 is the way around the tunnels.

The westerly direction is toll free, but a bit longer.

The easterly direction has a toll at the bridge.

Where are you headed?

I turn off 95 in Fredericksburg and take 17 to 66 to 81 to 78 and bypass the whole Balt/DC/ Philly mess.

Good move. What is US 17 like to drive on? Speed limits? Stop lights?

Take 695 west to I 83, north to Harrisburg, then I 81 north to I 84 east into Ct. Avoids lots of 95 headaches
