Route from Elkhart, IN to Petoskey, MI

We will be traveling with our 2015 FLEETWOOD Expedition 38k with a GMC Sierra 3/4 ton Heavy Duty Extended Cab long bed truck from Elkhart, IN to Petoskey, MI in early October 2016. We were planning on taking Hwy 131 near Elkhart to Petoskey. Has anyone traveled that route? Any problems with this big of a combination of rig and toad on that route? Any problems with getting diesel fuel? Do you have any other suggested route? We will be staying at Hearthside Grove while in Petoskey. Sure looking forward to this trip, and hope to see some nice fall colors! Thank You!

We were just in that area. Left Indianapolis to go to Sault Ste Marie to cross into Canada. Trip around Lake Superior.
We took I69 to 127 to I75. No problems and plenty of places for overnight and fuel. We stayed in Howe so to visit Shipshewana.

You should not have any problems with your length or obtaining fuel. Fill up near Grand Rapids or Cadillac for best prices.
Not sure where in Petoskey that park is. If on the west side, here is an alternate route. Take 131 north to 72 west to 31 north. 31 will take you up the coast to Petoskey. If the park is on the East, outside Petoskey, take 131 to 31.
Enjoy, the Fall color. You will be very close to the Tunnel of Trees. A spectacular Fall drive near Harbor Springs.
