Looking for advice on a route as described in the title... looking at going across the tappan Zee as it appears as if there is no toll if I am going from east to west across the bridge. True?

No toll on the Tappen Zee going south.

But if you take I-287 into NJ to I-78, you will have a toll when you cross the Delaware into PA.

I-78 will take you right to Lebanon at the I-81 merge.

From the I-78 bridge website, it looks like the toll will be $6.50 if it's just a two axle MH. If you are flat towing a car, the toll will be $16 ($4 per axle). It's cheaper to unhook on the NJ side, drive the car over for $1 and the MH over separately for $6.50.

There is a free bridge that goes from Phillipsburg, NJ to Easton, PA but it's a tight ride through city streets on both sides of the river.

Thanks for heads up on the additional toll... is there a good spot to disconnect the toad near the Delaware river bridge?

There is a small rest area right before Exit 7 on I-78 where you could unhook. You can then rehook immediately after the tolls in PA on the far right. There is also a Pilot and TA truck stop at Exit 7.
