Route past Washington

Anyone use rt 17 off 81 to get to 95? What is the road like?

I think we had done 81-66-17-95. It takes awhile and is not limited access. I do not remember a large choice of fuel stops either.
It is not clear in my mind as it was a few years ago, on trip to VA Beach to see the parents.

I've been on 17 recently. There is some construction but other than that, the ride is pretty nice. Smoother than 84.
