Route recommendation Asheville - Boone

Headed from Asheville to Boone in a couple days. Going east on I40, I want to know if HWY 64 from Morganton to HWY 321 is suitable for big rigs. It is about 30 miles shorter than taking I40 to 321 and backtracking. Thanks.

Rich

Yes - I40 to 64 to 321 is mostly 4 lane-good road

There is not much 4 lane on that section of 64 but Charlie is correct on it still being a good road and route! Enjoy your trip and the scenery!
