route suggestions: la mesa to palm desert

at the end of this month, we are driving from la mesa to palm desert and we are looking for suggested best driving routes
as always… thanks for your help

I would take I-15 north to The 215 towards riverside then the 60 east towards Indio then to the I-10 east to Palm Desert
