Routes from Grand Tetons to Vallecito lake Co.

Asking for a friend who will be going from Colter Bay CG in the Tetons to Vallecito Lake area. He will be driving a 35 ft gas class A pulling a jeep. This summer will be his first big trip in his rig so is looking for the easiest route.
TIA
Dave.

Is he planing on going trough Denver or Utah and across to SW CO? Pretty vague question with many routes.

Look at these possible way points as he drives south;
Jackson
Flaming Gorge
Dino NM
Colorado NM
Ouray
Jeep to Silverton
Telluride
Trout Lake
Mesa Verde
Durango

That’s the best I can do on the iPad

If we knew the time available we could add a few more great stops as you head south - San Juan’s are filled with Great Jeep trails.

Hope this helps,

Shortest would allow the most views - MAP - https://binged.it/38LQkSc

No one can guess what would work for you or your Buddy - all routes have Pluses and Minuses - likely my Pluses will be your Minuses - so look over the options pass them on then see what works or what combination works - As I've driven all of the above in one way or the other - Yes, I drive a lot - the one I'd recommend is the shortest with many optional stops along the way.

If just easy is what you are after - try Alpine to Moab to the Lake - if RT 550 might be intimidating then go around on RT 145 through Rico to the lake.

Hope this helps,

Thanks, I think your route through Moab is his best bet. I have been trying to make sure he doesn't try driving Red Mans pass even if it is shorter.
